Snow and Stuff

Remember the big freeze?!

Its been a busy start to the year, at least, that is after the snow decided to leave us. Having had our family excursion to Germany cancelled twice by BA, we finally accepted the fact that we weren’t going anywhere over Christmas. At least BA had the decency to refund us our airfares, but the parking crowd (Purple Parking) refused to give us our money back because we had not given them 24-hours notice. Erm… a bit difficult seeing as BA also hadn’t given us 24-hours notice, but the Purple people weren’t interested, with the result that we won’t be using them ever again and I hope that many more won’t use them either. Grumble, grumble…..

But being holed up in the hills of west Wales in deep snow has its benefits because my son was able to create the most awesome toboggan run down the mountain behind our house which gave us hours of fun. It was also interesting to see how many people were driving around with 6 to 9 inches of snow on their cars hoping it would slide off en route to their destination – which it would invariably do, straight on the windscreen of the car behind them, or some poor photographer standing by the roadside!

However, spring is now on the way and the events calendar is filling up quickly….
